THE ANNUAL CHURCH PICNIC WILL BE TODAY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE 11:00 A.M. WORSHIP SERVICE. Meat and drinks will be provided and you are asked to bring a dish of salad, vegetable, or dessert. Remember to bring your friends & neighbors.
CDOM SCHOOL SUPPLIES – When you are shopping for your children’s school supplies, please remember to pick up a few extras for CDOM. The supplies needed are: backpacks, notebooks with tear out (perforated) sheets, loose leaf paper, #2 pencils, pens, paste, crayons, binders, and rulers. A box is located in the narthex for your convenience in placing your items.
PATHFINDERS will meet Tuesday, September 7 for lunch in Friendship Hall. This is the first day of class for our preschool. The teachers and the aides of the S.N.A.P. and preschool programs will be our guests. You are asked to bring extra of meat, vegetable, salad or dessert. Since preschool does not dismiss until noon, the lunch will not begin until 12:15 p.m. These two programs are a very important outreach of St. Andrew, so we ask that you come and encourage the leaders of these groups and wish them a wonderful 2010-2011 school year. You will also be discussing the fall foliage trip to Tygart Lake Lodge and the Mother’s Day Shrine. The Pathfinders are in need of a driver for the van for their trip to Tygart Lake on Tuesday, October 5th. You must be between the ages of 25-65 to be able to drive the van with a valid driver’s license and insurance. If you are interested, call the church office at 304-727-7114.
THANK YOU to the congregation for the wonderful reception and the gifts you gave me last Sunday in recognition of my 30 years of service to St. Andrew. You are a very special congregation.

THE ST. ALBANS COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY is setting records with total number of families being served and new clients. We allow people to visit the pantry every 30 days and we are serving around 95 to 120 families a month. Without your support, this could not be done. Food items needed: canned peaches, canned oranges, chicken noodle soup, ramen noodles (beef or chicken), beans (not green beans), toilet paper, shampoo, toothpaste, body wash, dishwashing liquid and plastic bags.
Carol Buck
Please place all items in the basket in the narthex marked “Community Food Pantry”.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO THE CONGREGATION for the phone calls, visits, cards, food and especially your prayers during Jim’s illness and death. Thank you to Loretta for the wonderful service and to Randy Walker for singing at Jim’s funeral.
